With New York Fashion Week set to kick off next week, it's only fitting that we give you one of the highlight looks for Fall 2012. And while it's still a cool 30 degrees outside, next years trend is hot enough to wear this season too—cinched coats. During winter it’s easy to look shapeless buried underneath layers of clothing. But you don’t have to sacrifice fashion for decreased temperatures. Instead, add a little shape to your wintry ensemble by accentuating your figure with a statement belt. Burberry Prosum and Michael Kors left us breathless with effortlessly chic looks that were both fashion, and weather, appropriate.
Our advice…cinch your coat or jacket at the waist with a wide belt, or swap it for a skinny one to redefine your statement blazer. Belted coats work for all body types, and is a universally flattering idea. So what are you waiting for?
