Health Lessons from Your Best Friend

dog with ownerOwning a pet has been proven to be beneficial to your health; any dog or cat-loved will understand why. A recent study in the American Journal of Cardiology found that pet owners’ hearts are better able to cope with change (meaning their hearts are able to respond to change, such as stress, more easily). We can also take away some “tips” from our pets on how to live a healthy lifestyle, such as these:

TAKE NAPS. Most pets love to sleep, and we should too. Naps are especially good for your heart, so squeeze some into your schedule if you’re able (even if its just on the weekend).

DO YOUR FAVORITE THINGS, FREQUENTLY. Dogs are willing to fetch their favorite toy over and over again. Embrace your passion by frequently devoting time to your most-loved hobbies.

GO FOR A STROLL. Chances are you’re dog gets fairly excited about his walk. Share his enthusiasm and make an effort to be active every day.
