Sweet Taste of Summer

jp24124 cmykAt the heart of summer, there’s nothing better than an icy cool treat. Sweet’s of Lake Forest shared their favorite recipe for a fruit-flavored smoothie you can make at home. (But if it’s too hot to cook in your kitchen, Sweet’s will make a smoothie to order for you every day of the week!)

Fresh Fruit Smoothie

1 cup of juice (pineapple, orange, or apple)
1 cup of strawberries (raspberries will also work)
2 cups vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt

Mix items in blender until smooth and use more or less juice based on how thick or thin you like your smoothie. And if you like it a little sweeter, add sugar to taste. The beauty of this recipe…no ice! You can whip it up in your blender at a moment’s notice. Serve in a tall glass with whip cream and a fruit garnish.

Serves four.

Sweet’s Chocolate & Ice Cream is located at 260 E. Deerpath in Lake Forest. Visit them online at sweetschocolates.com.
