14th Annual Mad Hatter Luncheon and Fashion Show

Mathilda Williams, chair of the Mad Hatter event, was honored with the “Outstanding Service Award” given by the Guild of the Lake Forest Symphony at the 14th annual Mad Hatter Luncheon and Fashion Show on April 26. This highly-anticipated event brought out the most elegant and creative hats and kicked off spring in Lake Forest. More than 165 supporters attended the event, which featured a fashion show with looks from The Lake Forest Shop and Ooh La La Couture Millinery Boutique in Highland Park. The evening was Kentucky Derby-themed, so naturally there was a hat contest; Geraldine Stanko won for Most Understated Hat, Shannon Wilford won for Most Sophisticated, Clairese Huennekens won for most Over the Top, and Maria Lampros won for Most Coordinated. The opening of the fashion show featured six “Jockey Girls” who danced around the runway atop stick horses to the “William Tell Overture.” More than $10,000 was raised for operating funds at the Lake Forest Symphony.
