Lake Forest Cub Scout Pack 48
To honor those who have served our country, Lake Forest Cub Scout Pack 48 gathered at the Cherokee Elementary School gym on November 8 for a dinner and tribute to local veterans. The Wolf Cub den planned the event, which included photos of relatives that served in the military, instruction on how to fold the flag, and learning the symbolism of the poppy flower. Cub Scouts sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” during a special flag ceremony before sitting down for a roast turkey dinner prepared by Cub Scout den families. A special video tribute was shown, and Scouts had the opportunity to talk with the veterans about the Armed Forces and what it means to serve the country. The evening concluded with a talk from a local Marine and Petty Chief Officer from the Navy.
