LEAD
Great weather and the beauty of Elawa Farm made for a record-breaking Fourth Annual Red Ribbon Race, put on by LEAD. More than 300 families participated during the November 5 event, media sponsored by Forest & Bluff. The race, which was a 5K run or 2-mile family walk, served as the exciting kickoff to LEAD’s 25th anniversary year. First place male and female runners were Chris Charhut and Jessy Scarpone. This year’s most senior participant was Richard Freeman, age 79. The youngest runners were 8-years-old. All proceeds raised benefit LEAD, an organization dedicated to promoting healthy family relationships and preventing alcohol, tobacco, drug use, and other risky behavior.
