Shields Township Food Pantry
Kicking off their inaugural event, supporters of the Shields Township Food Pantry gathered for some friendly competition at Lake Bluff Golf Club on August 12. After a delicious lunch prepared by WISMA of Lake Bluff, 19 foursomes teed off on a flawless summer day. After golf, guests enjoyed dinner sponsored by Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. More than $10,000 was raised for the Shields Township Food Pantry, which will go toward capital improvements to the pantry and a mobile food pantry for those throughout Shields Township, as well as food for the current location within the office. Russ Armstrong chaired the event with co-chair Gale Stenger-Wayne.
